Helping animals first and foremost!

Volunteers make a significant contribution to the Montréal SPCA’s operations. Their support and dedication are essential to the accomplishment of its mission. These valued allies allow us to offer a range of services that go far beyond the traditional role attributed to animal shelters. The SPCA is looking for people who are willing to dedicate time to helping animals.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:
  • Be 18 years of age or older (for insurance purposes) 
  • Be able to volunteer a minimum of three consecutive hours per week 
  • Be able to work on a fixed schedule each week 
  • Be able to make a long-term commitment of at least 6 months 
  • Be reachable by email 
  • Have a good command of spoken and written French (English is an asset)

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Montreal SPCA! Due to an exceptional response to our volunteer programs, we are unable to accept new applications at this time. 

While existing applications are being reviewed, please note that it is still possible to contribute to our cause.

Foster an animal

Do you like animals, but are unable to commit to one long term? By fostering, you can temporarily offer shelter and care to an animal in need!

Cohabit peacefully with wildlife
