The Montreal SPCA also helps animals with special medical or behavioural needs, which unfortunately often have more difficulty finding adoptive homes than others. As we want to find a home suited to their individual needs, the Montreal SPCA is absorbing the adoption fees for these animals until August 18th.
Animals with special needs are identified with an “(H)” next to their name on our website. You can also obtain more information about the adoption procedures.
Our adoption counselors will be happy to guide you and answer all your questions. They will also explain all that is involved when taking on the commitment and responsibilities of bringing home an animal with special needs. We go through a rigorous selection process to find a home for them.
Please remember that the adoption fees are only a tiny portion of the amount you should expect to pay to care for your animal. You need to take into account all the other costs for food, litter, various hygiene and other types of products (brush, leash, collar, cage, toys, etc.), boarding fees and veterinary fees (vaccines, annual exams, sterilization, illness, etc.).
You can also purchase accessories for your new companion at the Montreal SPCA Boutique.
