Here are the STM’s rules and guidelines.
— Beginning April 15, travel will be permitted on weekdays from opening to 7 a.m., from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to closing.
— During the summer season from May 20 to August 20, 2023, access will be permitted at all times, except during certain major events which may result in additional restrictions. The rule also applies to weekends and holidays, allowing access at all times.
— Dogs are required to wear a muzzle throughout the trip, from the moment they enter the metro station
— Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times (wrap the leash around your hand to bring it to a maximum length of 1.25 m)
— Any “mess” that the animal might make must be picked up
— Dogs are not allowed on seats or benches
— No more than one dog may accompany each person
— Avoid the front car of the train, which is the preferred car for schools, daycare centres, people with functional limitations and bicycles
— Use the stairs (avoid escalators, as they can cause injury to dogs). Elevators are intended for people with limited mobility, but you can use them with your animal if space permits
— Only use STM-owned entrances and exits
— Non-STM buildings, businesses and services that provide access to the metro may not allow leashed dogs; inquire prior to your trip
— For the time being, the Longueuil-Université-de-Sherbrooke station is excluded from the pilot project
