These are the STM’s mandatory instructions.
— Dogs may only travel during off-peak hours on weekdays; they may travel at all times on weekends and public holidays.
— Dogs must wear a muzzle throughout the trip, from the moment they enter the metro station until they leave.
— Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times (maximum 1.25 m of slack between your hand and the dog).
— Any messes that the animal might make must be picked up.
— Dogs are not allowed on any seats on the metro trains or benches on the platforms.
— No more than one dog may accompany each person.
— Avoid the front car of the train, which is used by schools, daycares, persons with functional limitations and persons with bicycles.
— Use the stairs (avoid escalators, as they can cause injury to dogs). Elevators are intended for people with limited mobility, but you may use them with your animal if space permits.
— Only use STM-owned entrances and exits.
— Non-STM buildings, businesses and services that provide access to the metro may not allow leashed dogs; inquire prior to your trip.
— Dogs are not allowed in the Longueuil–Université-de-Sherbrooke station.
